KOZHIKODE: The new scheme Namakku Niratham Nammude Nirathu (4N) will be implemented on an experimental basis to mend the dangerous life-threatening potholes on the roads in a time-bound manner. In the initial phase, it will be implemented in the city.
The public can report on the potholes in their areas. “Usually the patchwork is delayed due to the technicalities in awarding the tenders. Potholes in the city have already been identified. These are the one that have not been repaired for the past 48 hours and not included in the work agreement of the Public Works Department and the Kozhikode Corporation,” Collector N. Prasanth said.
An advertisement board having a length of up to one square metre will display the name of the sponsor everyday with the tagline ‘Kuzhivazhipadu’ (Tribute to Pothole), he said.
